Inspired from the old era of embracing the trends of emerging sound-system and music technology such as walkman, cars with built-in cassette deck, FM stereos, and electronic musical instruments.
We came up with the idea of the terms from Citypop itself. A popular trend of musical culture, fashion, and lifestyle from Japan back in the late 70s to 90s. Also known as Vaporwave, Future Funk, and Synthwave in the American music industry.
Came up in a bundle of 5 fonts that tailored to perfectly match with the era. The imagination of vibing up the driving old cars with the music from a cassette deck, a sunset view of the crowded city with neon signs and lights, are always our main jam in the process of crafting these fonts.
