These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of fontlala.com (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The service

Fontlala is a catalogue that lets you preview and download fonts made freely available by their designers. We provide the directory, previews, and download links as a convenience; we are not the author or publisher of the fonts themselves.

2. Font licences — your responsibility

This is the most important section. Each font is provided under its own licence, which is shown on the font's page and/or included in the download.

You are responsible for reading and complying with each font's licence, especially for commercial use.
Licence information on Fontlala is provided for convenience and may be incomplete or out of date. The licence supplied by the designer always takes precedence.
Fonts remain the intellectual property of their respective designers and foundries.
If you are unsure whether you may use a font for a particular purpose, contact the designer or do not use it.

3. Accounts

Some features, such as saving collections, require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account, and you agree to provide accurate information. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any font's licence.
Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the catalogue, or place undue load on our systems.
Copy, resell, or redistribute our compilation, listings, previews, or branding as your own.

Upload or submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.

5. Intellectual property

The Fontlala name, logo, design, text, and the organisation of the catalogue are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. The fonts belong to their designers. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, please see our DMCA & Takedown Policy.

6. User content

If you submit content — such as a report or a collection name — you confirm you have the right to do so, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Service. You remain responsible for what you submit.

7. Third-party links & advertising

The Service contains links to third-party sites and displays third-party advertising. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, or practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.

8. Disclaimer

The Service and all fonts are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that font licence information is accurate or complete, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that files are free of harmful components. You use the Service and any downloaded font at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fontlala and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Service or of any font, including any licence dispute between you and a font's designer. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Fontlala harmless from claims and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of any font, including any breach of a font's licence.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm us or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
