Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Fontlala ("we", "us") collects when you use fontlala.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. You can browse and download fonts without an account. If you create one — by email or by signing in with Google — we collect your name and email address, and, for Google sign-in, basic profile information that Google shares with us. We never receive your Google password.
Content you create. If you save fonts to collections or submit a report, we store that content and link it to your account.
Usage & log data. Like most websites, our servers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, the pages you view, and timestamps. We also keep aggregate counts such as how many times a font has been viewed or downloaded.
Cookies & similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies as described below.
Stored on your device only. Your light/dark theme preference is stored locally in your browser and never sent to us.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service, including accounts and collections.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse and fraud.
- To understand how the Service is used and to improve it (analytics).
- To display advertising that helps keep the Service free.
- To respond to your requests, reports, and support enquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Cookies
We use a few categories of cookies:
- Essential — needed for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting forms.
- Analytics — help us measure traffic and improve the site.
- Advertising — set by our advertising partners to show and measure ads.
You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
4. Analytics
We use third-party analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics) to collect usage data and understand how visitors use the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and may set their own cookies. The information is used in aggregate to improve the site.
5. Advertising
Fontlala is free, and advertising helps keep it that way. Third-party advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads that are more relevant to you and to measure their performance. We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your region, sharing data with ad partners for personalised advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" under some privacy laws — see Your rights for how to opt out.
6. How we share information
We share information only as needed:
- With service providers who host, analyse, or support the Service (including analytics and advertising partners).
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Fontlala, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you.
- With your consent, or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Log data is generally kept for a shorter period unless needed for security or troubleshooting.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of personalised advertising or the "sale"/"sharing" of your data. You can:
- Manage or delete your account from your account settings.
- Control cookies through your browser and opt out of ad personalisation via your device or ad-provider settings.
- Contact us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
11. International users
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we do, we take steps to ensure your information receives an appropriate level of protection.
12. Third-party links
The Service may link to other websites, such as designer pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and significant changes may be highlighted on the site.
